It took an empty patio and a pile of discarded pallets to motivate Sven Proescher to build a full set of unique outdoor furniture, for a total cost of just $180.
‘I like the idea of using what you have, and I’d also been interested in attempting a build with pallets,’ says Sven.
Once he began, there were two problems he had to solve through trial and error.
‘One issue was getting the seat back at an angle to make extended sitting comfortable. The other was making the seat strong enough,’ he says.

After solving these problems, which involved much reinforcing, Sven attached castors to the single seat and table.
He then finished off all the pieces with exterior grade paint.
