How to clean your tools
Putting tools away without cleaning them can result in rusty heads or even split handles. Here’s how to get them ready for their winter hibernation.
You’ll need a wire brush, steel file, bagged fine sand, steel wool, a bucket, rust protectant and linseed oil.
1. Brush the tool
With the tool lying on a firm surface, use a wire brush to remove large material from the blade or head, paying attention to the grooves and joins, especially where the head meets the handle.
