Hull a strawberry with a straw

When preparing a strawberry for eating, you’ll want to remove the leaves and the white part (called the hull or calyx) at the top of the berry.

The traditional way to hull a strawberry is with a small, sharp knife. However, this method can be a time consuming for newbies and doesn’t always guarantee perfect results.

Our method of hulling a strawberry is quick, easy, mess-free and does away with a knife altogether making it kid-friendly.

To hull a strawberry with a drinking straw simply insert a straw in to the end of a strawberry. Push the straw all the way through and then pull it back out again. The hull will now pull out easily leaving a perfect circle through the strawberry.
