You need to be confident that the hardware you use to fix a TV to the wall will keep it firmly secured in the one spot for many years. Knowing that both your family are safe and the unit itself is secure on the wall and not at risk of ending up on the floor is vital.

With the internal walls of many homes now commonly lined with plasterboard, homeowners need to be confident that when they mount their TVs to their living room walls, the integrity of the wall structure won’t be compromised by the weight of the appliance. GripIt Heavy Duty Plasterboard Fixings are designed with this concern in mind.

Most readily available wall fixings on the market simply aren’t designed to hold heavy loads over 20kgs, without requiring a wall to be modified and strengthened. Others rely on timber studs or brickwork behind the plasterboard to anchor heavy items, and this can limit where they can be positioned.

GripIt Plasterboard Fixings solves the problem of mounting anything heavy on a plasterboard wall with no need for specialist tools, complicated modifications or compromises that can often have drawbacks.

A single GripIt fixing holds up to 113kg, more than any other on the market, eliminating the worry and restrictions about weight. What’s more, GripIt fixings can be installed directly onto the plasterboard, avoiding any damage or impact to the surface.

See just how easy it is with this simple step-by-step guide.

Step 1. Mark the Drilling Points

Step 1. Mark the Drilling Points

Using the bracket mounting plate as a guide, mark drilling points at the top and bottom corners.

Don’t forget to use a spirit level to make sure it’s straight.

Step 2. Drill

Step 2. Drill

Use a standard flat drill bit to make holes for the fixings.

The blue GripIt fixings (recommended for mounting TVs) need a 25mm hole.

Make sure to drill right through the plasterboard.

Step 3. Tap

Step 3. Tap

A few sharp taps with a hammer is all it takes to tease the GripIt into position.

Anti-rotation blades around the edge help make sure it fits securely.

Step 4. Turn

Step 4. Turn

Turn the centre slot of the GripIt clockwise with a flathead screwdriver.

This unfolds the unique wings that anchor the GripIt firmly in place.

Ensure the wings are fully unfolded for maximum strength.

Step 5. Add the Mounting Plate

Step 5. Add the Mounting Plate

Use the supplied M8 bolts to screw the mounting plate into the centre hole of each GripIt.

As you tighten the bolts, the fixing adjusts to the wall thickness and the vice-like grip of the GripIt increases.

Step 6. Mount the TV

Step 6. Mount the TV

Attach the bracket hooks to the rear of the TV and carefully hang it onto the mounting plate.

Now you’re free to wind back and relax, safe in the knowledge that you’ve saved yourself time, effort and that your TV is secured safely to the wall.

TIP: Don’t worry if you have dot & dab, double thickness or insulated plasterboard walls.

The optional GripIt undercutting tool lets you cut a recess to allow the gripping wings to unfold.

But why stop at the TV?

The complete range of GripIt fixings handle everything from picture frames and curtain rails to ceiling lights, shelves and even air-conditioning AC units.
